Sony Computer Entertainment has announced that worldwide sales of the PS4 have now topped over 18.5 million units.

This milestone was reached as of January 4th, 2015. 4.1 million PS4 units of the console were sold during the retail period. The console sold more than any of its competitors. In terms of PlayStation Plus, 10.9 million users have now subscribed. This is up from the near 8 million users that were announced back in August.  “We are absolutely delighted that so many customers around the globe have continued to select PS4 as their console of choice throughout this holiday season,” said Andrew House, President and Group CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. “We will continue to reinforce and deliver additional value on PS4 as the best place to play, by bringing even more exciting content and by enriching our wide array of service offerings.” PS4 software sales were also strong with more than 81.8 million copies worldwide. During the busy Holiday period, 17.8 million PS4 games were sold.   The PS4 is now selling in 123 countries countries and regions worldwide.
