FYI, this story is more than a year old

Richard Webb, the CEO of licensed Apple distributors Renaissance, has resigned from the company, after just under two years in the position.

In a statement to the NZX, Renaissance chairman Colin Giffney says Webb  has resigned from the company to focus on his technology incubation business.

"Rick has steered Renaissance through an extremely difficult 2011 financial year," Giffney says.

"He has overseen the introduction of a second Apple distributor and had to deal with the significant impacts of the Christchurch earthquake on the company.

"Rick also rebranded all the non-distribution activities of the company under the one brand – Yoobee.

"The board acknowledges Rick's strategic direction through an extremely challenging period in the company's history.

Renaissance's board of directors is also losing Rick Ellis, who will depart the board as well as his position as TVNZ CEO to take up a role with Telstra in Australia.

Ron Halls, former president and CEO of Footlocker Inc International, has accepted an invitation to join the board in Ellis' place.

Webb is the third key executive to leave in just over a month, following the departures of distribution head Warwick Grey and retail head Mark Singleton in October.
