Renaissance distribution manager: ‘watch this space’
Fri, 16th Dec 2011
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Renaissance Distribution’s new general manager, Doug Casement, is promising big things from the company in 2012.

Casement, Renaissance's former CIO who took over the distribution role from Warwick Grey in October, says he has several plans which will come to fruition in the New Year.

"Watch this space,” Casement says.

"We’ll be back with a bang – not that we ever went anywhere, but there will be some interesting changes and we have some great plans for 2012.”

Among those plans are ‘baby cloud’ or cloud-in-a-box offerings for resellers, which will combine hardware and software which resellers can configure for customers.

Casement says the development springs from some confusion by smaller businesses as to how best to use cloud – providing an opportunity for resellers. The hybridised model is expected to be available in February.

Casement says Renaissance will also be ‘vigorously’ pursuing its channel strategy for Insite and the server business.

"We will have a very strong emphasis on developing and further strengthening our channel strategy, particularly for Insite.”

He says while the company has been through some ‘turmoil’ in the last couple of years it is ‘very much’ settling down now.

"It’s about getting the basic back in play and doing it really well. We have a world-class warehouse, a fast and flexible distribution system and great teams.”
