Renaissance picks up Penguin contract
Thu, 28th Oct 2010
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Renaissance has signed a deal with publisher Penguin Group (USA) to develop and host an iPhone and iPad application for one of its books.

The firm says that Penguin approached it after viewing its ‘My Secret Diary’ app, which featured on the ‘New and Noteworthy’ section of the Apple USA iPad App store in August.

“We were so impressed with the quality, creativity and simplicity of My Secret Diary and could immediately see how the characteristics and features could work well to further bring to life some of our authors works,” says Katherine McCahill, Online Development Manager at Penguin Group (USA).

Applications Development Manager at Renaissance, Paul Dyson, added, “We are delighted to begin this relationship with Penguin Group (USA) and to design and host this application, which will hopefully be the first of many we develop with Penguin."

The app is due to go live early next year and hasn't been named yet.

Update: A spokesperson for Renaissance has told The Channel that the book in question will be revealed at a later date.
