FYI, this story is more than a year old

Pros: The Toriba 831S+ is budget priced – were it not for the 16-inch ASUS VW161D, it would be the cheapest monitor we looked at. It was simple to set up, with D-Sub and DVI connections. For basic screen images, the Toriba acquitted itself well in our tests, and the bezel framing gives the monitor a unique look while taking up a minimum of desk space.

Cons: For more complex images and multimedia, it struggled a little, with slightly indistinct colour patterns and a noticeable problem keeping track with fast images. On a physical level, the monitor leans back on a rather small plastic nub, which looks both a little odd and isn’t the most stable solution we’ve ever seen. It’s also technically an 18.5-inch viewable display, although most users wouldn’t pick the slight screen shrink in practical use.

Verdict: Acceptable for the money, but undeniably basic.
