A wireless keyboard that won’t require you to replace the batteries. Ever. Just think about that for a moment. That’s precisely what Logitech is offering in the K750 Solar Keyboard. In fact, the use of the word ‘solar’ in the product’s name is slightly misleading, as this keyboard can be powered by any light. The K750 sports a slim design (at only 1/3 of an inch thick), with two legs that swing out to elevate the top if you so desire. Set-up is as simple as plugging in the accompanying Logitech Unifying USB Receiver, which can be used in tandem with other Logitech devices, such as mice, in order to preserve USB ports. The keys on this particular model, however, may not be to everyone’s liking. If you’re used to the contoured grooves and concaved keys of more modern keyboards, you might find the hard-edged square design of the K750 to be a step backwards. The two solar panels do add extra bulk, but an admirable job has been made to maintain the K750 as a compact and very usable keyboard.
PROS: Never worry about replacing (or paying for) batteries for your wireless keyboard ever again. A slim and stylish, fully functioning keyboard.
CONS: Those who prefer ergonomic keyboards are out of luck here.
VERDICT: It’s a small price to pay to rid yourself of batteries for good. This wireless, battery-free keyboard offers unparalleled convenience, although its flat, hard-edged design may be off-putting to some.
