Review: Norton 360 3.0
Norton 360 3.0 combines Symantec’s Norton Internet Security Suite with PC cleanup tools and a backup utility in a simple interface.
The third edition doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but does promise to be quicker and more lightweight in its use of system resources.
Pros: Installation was astonishingly quick for an anti-virus package, and system impact was equally minimal, which is vital for a security suite.
The new Safeweb Web site monitoring is a neat concept at least. Scanning made minimal impact on our test system while it ran, and the package overall was nicely non-intrusive in day-to-day use.
Cons: Safeweb relies on sites having already been assessed, which is risky with the number of new threats emerging.
Verdict: A good complete security and backup package.
