Fri, 1st Apr 2011
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Facebook has been used to solve the case of a pilfered ring.A three carat diamond ring has been recovered after it was put on Facebook by its proud new ‘owner’, reports  www.zdnet.com"Look what Robby gave me ,” gushed 20-year-old Crystal Yamnitzky, in a post containing a photograph of the ring, "I love him so much”, after receiving the ring from 21-year-old boyfriend Robert Driscoll. An eagle-eyed cousin of Yamnitzky’s however, recognised the ring and mentioned it to friends who, in turn, contacted the police. The ring, valued at more than $US12,000, has now been returned to its rightful owner, and both Yamnitzky and Driscoll have been charged.
