Samsung Electronics has announced the launch of the Bespoke AI Heat Pump Combo in New Zealand, a washer and dryer combination unit. First unveiled at IFA 2023 in Berlin, this appliance aims to redefine laundry routines by integrating washing and drying into a single, space-saving device.
The unit also features advanced AI technology and a 7-inch LCD display for an enhanced user experience.
The Bespoke AI Heat Pump Combo is designed to function as effectively as traditional separate machines through Samsung's BubbleWash and Heatpump Drying Technology. Combining these two appliances into one unit is aimed at reducing the hassle for users who typically need to transfer laundry from the washer to the dryer. This integration is particularly beneficial for users who want to save space, as it allows them to repurpose the space that would have been occupied by two separate machines.
Additionally, the Bespoke AI Heat Pump Combo boasts a significant capacity, offering 18kg for washing and 10kg for drying. This large drum size can accommodate bulky items such as king-sized comforters and large quantities of clothing, providing users with the convenience of doing more laundry in fewer loads. The machine promises to reduce the time users need to spend on laundry, enabling them to allocate more time to other activities.
A distinctive feature of the Bespoke AI Heat Pump Combo is the AI Wash & Dry system, which aims to enhance laundry efficiency using a range of sensors. These sensors optimise both the washing and drying processes for each load, eliminating the need for users to choose specific settings. The system accurately dispenses the appropriate amount of water and detergent based on the weight of the laundry. It also detects the type of fabric and the level of soiling, adjusting the washing time and detergent usage accordingly. After washing, the drying process is customised based on the weight and fabric type, aiming to deliver thorough and efficient results.
The user experience is further elevated by the 7-inch wide LCD display, which serves as a central control hub for the appliance and other connected devices within the home. The screen provides detailed information about the laundry process, including the status of the current cycle, remaining detergent levels, and energy consumption. The unit also uses machine learning to remember user habits and recommend cycles based on periodic and seasonal needs. Upon the completion of a cycle, it offers an energy and water consumption report, viewable on the LCD display or through the SmartThings App.
Moreover, the SmartThings App allows users to monitor and control other connected appliances within their home. This feature provides a 3D map view of all connected devices, enabling users to perform tasks such as checking the status of their air conditioner or starting a robot vacuum cleaner from the laundry room.
The Bespoke AI Heat Pump Combo will be available in New Zealand starting from 23rd September 2024.
