Secure Code Warrior launches free AI coding security series

Wed, 10th Sep 2025

Secure Code Warrior has announced the launch of a free 12-week AI and Large Language Model (LLM) security video series designed to help developers address the emerging security challenges of AI-assisted coding.

The series is available on YouTube and delivers weekly modules aimed at guiding software developers through a range of AI and LLM security concepts. These resources are intended to help developers confidently engage in AI-assisted code development while reducing risks to the organisations they support.

Changing security demands

There has been a significant rise in AI-assisted coding tools in recent years. Secure Code Warrior notes that as enterprises transition from experimenting with these tools to expecting their widespread use, there is increasing pressure on software teams to develop their security skills. The company aims to help developers and organisations make better decisions early, thereby minimising vulnerabilities and allowing innovation to proceed without additional risk.

According to Secure Code Warrior, a security-proficient developer who uses AI technologies may achieve substantial productivity improvements. Conversely, lacking security awareness can multiply risks and technical debt. The company states, "Enterprise security leaders must consider that a security-proficient developer leveraging AI in their role will be in the best position to reap the benefits of 10x productivity, while those who lack security skills will introduce 10x more security risk and technical debt."

Building on previous work

This video series expands on Secure Code Warrior's involvement in the wider conversation around AI security. The company previously released its AI Security Rules on GitHub - a publicly accessible framework to guide safer defaults in AI coding tools. This framework, together with Secure Code Warrior's additional AI/LLM focused content and platform-based training, is part of a broader effort to support best practices as Secure by Design initiatives become more common in enterprise settings.

"AI has already transformed the software development landscape as we know it, and with that touted 10x increase in coding productivity has come a new frontier of security challenges, many of which development teams are struggling to mitigate," said Pieter Danhieux, CEO and Co-founder, Secure Code Warrior. "We must evolve our secure coding skillsets just as quickly. At Secure Code Warrior, we believe security-proficient developers are at the heart of a safer, AI-powered future. By equipping them to spot risks, enforce secure prompting, and perform precision security review of AI-generated code with confidence, we are ensuring organisations can innovate safely. This series is just the beginning of that journey."

Twelve-part curriculum

The video series introduces one AI or LLM security concept per week over 12 weeks. The first video, titled "AI Coding Risks: Potential Dangers of Using LLMs," launches the series, with additional topics scheduled to include sensitive information disclosure, supply chain risks, securing AI outputs from data and model poisoning, managing excessive AI autonomy, and maximising benefits through secure AI-assisted development.

Each video is intended to offer introductory content that increases awareness of key risks associated with AI and LLM integration into development practices. Developers who require further resources are directed to Secure Code Warrior's platform, which provides expanded content and learning modules. This includes AI challenges that replicate real-world coding workflows, in-depth walkthroughs and missions for practical learning, and guidelines that are aligned with established industry standards such as the OWASP Top 10 for LLMs.

Access and continued commitment

The series is accessible without charge. Developers can keep pace with new releases by subscribing to the Secure Code Warrior YouTube channel or following updates on the company's blog. In total, over 130 AI/LLM-focused learning activities are available to registered users on Secure Code Warrior's platform.

As part of its stated commitment, the company will continue to offer free and practical resources aimed at improving the ability of developers to build secure AI-powered applications.
