Recidivist channel surfers can now scan what's on TV without aggravating other viewers, with the launch of Sky TV's Android app.

Coming almost a year to the day since Sky launched its app for iPhone and iPad, the Android app allows users to view listing information, set alerts for favourite shows, and remotely record shows – plus book movies and events – through My Sky.

The app also lets users perform searches for show information, and of course comment on shows via social media.

Sky has 846,000 subscribers, and says the iOS app has been downloaded 210,000 times.
