Skype has released an update to its Symbian client which adds support to a variety of new Symbian phones.

The update adds support for the Nokia N8, Nokia C6, Nokia C7 and Nokia E7.

According to the firm, the update also features SILK, Skype’s wideband audio codec, for calls in "CD-like audio quality, even when users are on a low-bandwidth connection”.

Skype recently launched version 5.0 for Mac, which brought with is "a revamped look and feel with it that simplifies navigation and provides a more native Mac experience."

Unfortunately, that update went down like a lead balloon.
