Sony Computer Entertainment senior director of corporate communications and social media, Patrick Seybold, has updated the PlayStation blog with additional information pertaining to the security breach of the PlayStation Network. In particular, the blog outlines the steps Sony is taking to ensure the PSN's ongoing security.

According to the blog, Sony is "enhancing security and strengthening our network infrastructure".

"Moving forward, we are initiating several measures that will significantly enhance all aspects of PlayStation Network's security and your personal data, including moving our network infrastructure and data center to a new, more secure location, which is already underway," writes Seybold. "We will provide additional information on these measures shortly."

Also explained in the blog is that Sony is currently working with law enforcement "as well as a well recognised technology security firm to conduct a complete investigation". According to Gamespot, Sony has enlisted the FBI to assist in tracking down whomever is responsible for the breach.

"This malicious attack against our system and against our customers is a criminal act, and we are proceeding aggressively to find those responsible," writes Seybold.

At the time of writing, there is still no concrete word on when PlayStation Network users can expect to access the service again. In the blog, Seybold contends that Sony expects to have "some services up and running within a week from yesterday".
