In an update to original information provided by Sony Europe it appears they are not the only ones to back-track on specs provided over their next gen console.

Reports are circulating the web that the PlayStation 4 will only record seven minutes or less of your gameplay - a comment recently confirmed by SCEE’s Neil Brown at a Develop 2013 talk in Brighton UK.

This is half the time originally quoted and Sony have told Eurogamer.net that Brown later corrected himself when questioned after the event and said “several” minutes rather than “Seven”.

According to eurogamer.net however, the Xbox One will be able to automatically record the last five minutes of your gameplay, less time than Sony will automatically store on PlayStation 4.

Speaking to Gamespot, Microsoft Studios creative director Ken Lobb said: "The idea is you're always recording.

"The last five minutes of any game you're playing are always being stored on your hard drive.

"Say you're playing online and you just did the best thing ever - you can't pause as you're playing online.

"You can say 'Xbox, record that' and it'll grab the last 30 seconds of gameplay for you to play around with later."
