FYI, this story is more than a year old

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves was the big winner at Spike TV's annual video game awards in Los Angeles last weekend, taking out Game of the Year honours. A host of new titles was also announced at the ceremony, which gamers should expect to see sometime in 2010.

The Sony PlayStation exclusive Uncharted 2: Among Thieves managed to beat out Assassin's Creed II and even this year’s most commercially successful title, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, to win the highly coveted Game of the Year award. The title also won the Best Graphics and Best PS3 Game categories.

Other winners on the night included Street Fighter IV for Best Fighter, with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Assassin's Creed II taking out Best Shooter and Best Action Adventure respectively.

Among the new titles announced at the event were Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum 2, a new True Crime title and Green Day: Rock Band.
