A New Zealand educational startup has launched an Australian version of its popular service, Parent Interviews.
Used by thousands of parents and teachers across New Zealand, Parent Interviews offers an online booking system for schools to manage events.
"With the start of a new school year, we felt that it would be a great time to get our foot in the door of another massive market for us," says Indy Griffiths, Parent Interviews co-founder.
Parent Interviews was founded in 2013 by three Dunedin high school students as a school project, and has grown to manage interviews for over 30,000 New Zealand school students.
It was created to help schools simplify the process of managing parent teacher interviews, by offering a booking portal for parents, and an administration panel for schools and teachers.
Parents can register online and book interviews with their children's teachers via the online portal, while staff can check their interviews or set their breaks at any time.
The site sends automatic email and SMS reminders to parents and staff. "Parent Interviews can help ensure a good turnout for your events and reduce no-shows," the site says.
The tool can be customised to fit a school's requirements, from staff permissions to school colours. Schools are able to run multiple events at once with its own teachers, such as separate junior and senior school parent teacher interviews.
All the information obtained via the portal is managed securely in the cloud, meaning schools do not need to send out forms to parents or organise teacher timetables.
Parent Interviews operates on a fixed-cost yearly subscription.
