FYI, this story is more than a year old

Konami has released a nifty new puzzle game for Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network, almost two years after an early concept version won a prize at an international gaming festival.

The game, Puddle, challenges players to guide a puddle of liquid through a series of stages by tilting the environment and relying on gravity to do the rest. Hazards such as heat beams and rays of electric current lie in waiting to fry the puddles into dust.

Puddle began as a student project at a game development school in Angouleme, France.

It won a Student Showcase prize at the Independent Gaming Festival held as part of the Game Developer’s Conference 2010, and went into development soon afterwards.

Check out the trailer here for a taste of the game's quirky design.
