FYI, this story is more than a year old

Veeam has appointed Gary Mitchell to the role of vice president for ANZ who will be charged with amplifying Veeam's success in the Australian and New Zealand markets.

This appointment reflects Veeam's plans to strengthen the company's growth momentum as last year in Australia and New Zealand they achieved 19% year over year (YoY) growth in total bookings, and 46% YoY growth in renewal bookings.

In addition, they are stating that as of December 31st they have garnered 2,731 pro-partners and 9,531 customers.

“At Veeam we have seen significant growth across the ANZ region in recent years as more and more businesses are adopting our availability solution for their business,” says Veeam senior vice president for APJ Shaun McLagan, who was appointed in October last year.

“Gary's extensive experience from across the IT industry and the ability to drive operational excellence and sales success will help us in achieving our business growth goals in 2018 and beyond.

Gary has over 25 years of experience in sales, consulting and operations with IT organisations across Australia, New Zealand and Asia.

His career includes regional management roles in large technology vendors such as CA Technologies, BMC Software, Enterasys/Extreme Networks and RSA/EMC.

He also has experience in IT startup initiatives within Australia and international organisations.

Prior to joining Veeam, Gary was Director of APJ at Perfecto Mobile, an organisation in the Digital Dev-Ops sector where he was responsible for establishing the business in the Asia Pacific region with subsequent staff and customer growth in Australia, NZ, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, China and India.

Mitchell says, “The people I've met so far at Veeam have been very impressive, especially their knowledge, desire to win and to build highly successful teams.

"Also, everybody within the partner ecosystem that I spoke with all said that Veeam is a great company and they all have plans to invest even more in working with us in 2018.

"This is all incredibly encouraging feedback and I know I can make a very positive contribution to Veeam in its next phase of growth.
