FYI, this story is more than a year old

According to figures released from Vodafone in the UK, Vodafone New Zealand has lost 35,000 customers.

In the quarter to July, 2010 Vodafone said it had 2,479,000 customers. But that figure fell to 2,444,000 for the September period.

We've contacted Vodafone for a response to the loss.

In the same financial statement, Group Chief Executive, Vittorio Colao, also announced a change in strategy for the company.

“We have also today announced an updated strategy, which positions Vodafone to realise further value from non-controlled assets, take full advantage of the most valuable telecommunications growth opportunities ahead and which will deliver sustainable revenue growth, stabilising margins and strong free cash flows.

Yesterday Vodafone held its hands up over a recent crop of problems with missed calls and delayed text messages.
