Vodafone NZ has revealed it will offer the newly released iPhone 5 in New Zealand from this Friday.

As copies of the device reach five million worldwide, the telecommunications company will offer a variety of pricing for the record-breaking product.

Vodafone says the iPhone 5 will be available for a suggested retail price of $0 for the 16GB model, $149 for the 32GB model and $299 for the 64GB model, with the company allowing iPhone 5 customers to connect to its faster HSPA+ and DC–HSDPA networks.

In addition to the offer, the iPhone 4S and iPhone 4 will be available for free with a 24-month contract.

Designed to be the thinnest and lightest Apple device ever, the iPhone is currently available in the U.S., UK, Australia, Canada among others, and will be available in 22 more countries on September 28 (including New Zealand) and more than 100 countries by the end of 2012.

“iPhone 5 will be the fastest handset in the New Zealand market when running on the Vodafone network,” says Grant Hopkins, director of sales at Vodafone New Zealand.

“iPhone 5 takes full advantage of our high speed DC-HSPA network – only available on the Vodafone network.”
