FYI, this story is more than a year old

Vodafone has unveiled a new range of On Account mobile plans packed with more data, giving customers the freedom to use their mobile data with no strings attached.

The bigger data bundles come with no usage limitations, meaning customers can create mobile hotspots and tether to other devices, regardless of whether they are at home or on the move.

Vodafone's new Red+ Essentials $79.99 monthly On Account plan now comes with a 22GB data bundle that customers can use to stream, browse and connect freely over NZ's fastest mobile network, according to independent testing by Ookla.

For those who don't need as much data, Vodafone has upped its Red+ Lite plan to include 10GB of data (up from 4GB) for $59.99 per month.

“We believe in letting our customers use their monthly data however they like, whenever they want and always at the highest possible speeds,” says Matt Williams, Vodafone consumer director.

“We know that sharing devices and hotspots makes life easier and now we're offering all Kiwis more data to do whatever they want with no strings attached.

For the value conscious, Vodafone's Advantage Lite plan now comes with 2.5GB of mobile data (up from 1GB) for $39.99 per month.

Customers who opt into to one of the new plans are also free to share their data allowance with other devices and with their family members, using Vodafone's hugely popular ‘Red Share' and ‘Tablet Share' add-ons.

Williams adds, “We have invested heavily in our network, including getting 4G to more than 95% of the places where Kiwis live and work, to make sure we can keep pace with the way Kiwis want and need to stay reliably connected.
