Watch this space: films to keep an eye out for
Sat, 11th Oct 2014
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Gone Girl(Released 2nd October)I’ve never been so excited to see a movie in my entire life. Since I found out they were making a film of this AMAZING book (please read it before you see the film!), I have been counting down the days. Director David Fincher (The Social Network) brings this mystery to life; the story about the disappearance of a woman on her wedding anniversary, and the whodunit investigation that follows, centred on her husband. Starring Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike.

Hunger Games, Mockingjay Part 125 NovemberI’m committed to seeing all the films in this series, just because I don’t want to give up on it and I feel like the movies are getting better with each new instalment (the opposite happened with the books).  Like all franchises these days, the last book is split into two movies and this is the penultimate. I’m interested to see how Jennifer Lawrence performs, and it will be interesting to see the film without the late Philip Seymour Hoffman.

Maze Runner(Released 25 September and finishing soon)I’m a sucker for adolcent dystopian fiction, and Maze Runner is the newest craze. A group of boys are delivered to The Glade – a large, open expanse ringed by a looming stone maze, with no memory of who they are or how they got there. In order to escape, they have to go through The Maze. It’s kind of like The Cube, actually. But outside.

Fury23 OctoberI never thought I would include a Brat Pitt movie on a list of films I want to see. But people change, you know. But to be fair, it’s the other actors (Logan Lerman from Perks of Being a Wallflower and Noah, and Shia LaBeouf - I want to see his acting skills after his shocking press lately) that have tempted me. Brad Pitt stars in this WW2 action drama, the master and commander of a Sharman tank and its crew.

This is where I leave you23 OctoberI’m not shy about my love of Jason Batement and his dry, you-are-all-idiots humour. Along with Tina Fey and Adam Driver, Bateman stars in this comedy abut a not so functional group of siblings forced to live together at the dying wish of their departed father. I expect mayhem.

John Wick27 NovemberWhere in the world in Keanu Reeves? I know right. Well he’s back, and that’s the only reason I’ve included this film on this list. Keanu, Willem Dafoe and Adrianne Palicki lead this hitman thriller. I really, really hope it is good and brings Keanu back from the dead.
