FYI, this story is more than a year old

As part of its launch day shenanigans for the beta version of Internet Explorer 9, Microsoft has kicked off a competition to find New Zealand's ugliest website.

Dubbed The Wuglies, the “winning” website will be offered a free website makeover. Everyone who nominates or votes will have a chance to win an HP DV6 notebook.

“Don't surf past like you never even saw them,” reads the website. “Nominate the sites that make your eyes sore. The sooner we identify those most badly affected, the sooner we can get them some help.

Website owners will be contacted by Microsoft if they're nominated, so they can understand why their daily hit count has more than doubled. It's people coming to look and poke fun at your website.
