Xbox 360s second year at the top
The Xbox 360 has once again ended the year as the best-selling console across the U.S., selling 1.4 million units in December.
Revealed in the company's official blog, Microsoft says NPD Group reports that the console now has held top spot in America for two years.
NPD data also shows that in December, Xbox 360 held seven of the top 10 console game titles, including "Halo 4,” “Assassin’s Creed III,” “Just Dance 4,” “NBA 2K13,” “Far Cry 3,” “Call of Duty: Black Ops 2” and “Madden NFL 13.”
"Microsoft expects 2013 to be another big year for Xbox 360, with even more offerings on the platform," Microsoft said in response to the news.
Tech Entrepreneur
Microsoft also announced the appointment of longtime technology entrepreneur Blake Krikorian as corporate vice president for its Interactive Entertainment Business (IEB), which includes the Xbox team.
Krikorian will report to Marc Whitten, chief product officer for IEB, with the move following the acquisition of Krikorian’s company, id8 Group R2 Studios.
