Alienware reintroduces Area-51 desktop & laptop series

Yesterday

Alienware has announced the return of its renowned Area-51 line, presented in both desktop and laptop formats.

The Area-51 debuted as a staple in Alienware's portfolio in 1998, and based on the enduring legacy of offering top gaming performance, the brand now seeks to captivate both new and longtime fans. The reintroduced desktop and laptop models are equipped with the NVIDIA Blackwell, GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs. This allows for significant enhancements in performance, especially with the implementation of NVIDIA DLSS 4, generating images faster and supporting cutting-edge AI models through NVIDIA Studio.

In parallel, Alienware has introduced a new Alienware 27 4K QD-OLED display.

"Area-51 Desktop makes a bold entrance to retake the throne as Alienware's flagship gaming PC," said a spokesperson from Alienware. This latest version of the desktop is specially designed to cater to gaming enthusiasts who thrive on customisability and superior performance. It boasts more than 600W of graphics power and up to 280W of processing power, supporting an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 GPU and Intel Core Ultra 9 285K CPU.

Alienware's engineers emphasised thermal management and airflow in the new Area-51 Desktop. They implemented an innovative positive pressure airflow system, in which larger fans direct cool ambient air inside, maintaining cooler temperatures and quieter operation. This setup results in a 13% cooler and 45% quieter system during graphic-intensive tasks.

The Area-51 Desktop's upgradeability was another key consideration, making it easy for users to service and replace critical components such as the motherboard, power supply, and CPU. QR codes inside the chassis link to tutorials for component upgrades and maintenance, while removable filters help maintain optimal airflow.

The Area-51 Desktop supports dual channel RAM configurations up to 64GB and up to 8TB of storage, and includes multiple cooling options to boost its performance levels.

New Area-51 laptops have also been announced, available in 16-inch and 18-inch models. Alienware is focusing on power and performance with these laptops, designed for maximum gaming capacity. They offer up to 280W combined power between an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 Series Laptop GPU and an Intel Core Ultra CPU.

The design of these laptops is inspired by extraterrestrial phenomena, styled in a new design language featuring a Liquid Teal finish and AlienFX lighting. Improved thermal architecture allows for 35% more air movement through the systems, ensuring they operate quietly.

Inside the new Area-51 laptops, next-generation technology advancements include XMP memory at speeds up to 7200 MT/s and Gen 5 SSD support, ensuring faster data throughput and application performance.

Alienware has additionally updated the Aurora Desktop, offering improved gaming performance facilitated by the new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 Series graphics and Intel Core Ultra 2 processors.

Alienware's Elite Care program has been introduced to provide specialised customer support, 24/7 assistance, accidental damage service, and extended battery support for Alienware laptops.
