Apple resetting iCloud Backup data this week

Mon, 19th Sep 2011
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Apple has posted a message on its developer boards that it will be resetting the iCloud Backup data on September 22.

The message, reported on 9 to 5 Mac, has prompted speculation the final version of iOS 5, also known as the 'Golden Master' (GM), will be released to overseas assemblers the following day.

Commentators last week predicted the GM would be released between September 23 and 30, indicating a public release of the software in early October.

Rumours also suggest the new operating system will be accompanied by a new iPhone or iPhones. Apple Insider is predicting that this will further the woes of Blackberry maker Research In Motion, which is counting on its recently released Blackberry 7 range to drive its business back into the black after recent poor results.
