Google has postponed its Android event in New York due to concerns over the impending Hurricane Sandy.
With the East Coast of America expected to come under attack in the next few days, the internet search engine cancelled the press meeting scheduled for today.
Sending a letter saying only “The playground is open”, the search giant was expected to announce a new Nexus smartphone made by LG, a new 10-inch Samsung tablet and a 32GB version of its Nexus 7 tablet.
This is the second cancellation of a Google press event in two years, after the internet firm postponed last year out of the respect after Steve Jobs passed away.
No date has been confirmed for the rescheduled event.
