Dreame Technology launches smart home line in New Zealand shops

Tue, 27th May 2025

Dreame Technology has commenced operations in New Zealand, offering a range of smart home cleaning, personal care, and outdoor products through major local retailers.

The company's full product ecosystem is now available in over 20 retail outlets across New Zealand, including well-known chains such as JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, Appliance Plus, Smiths City, and Heathcote Appliances. These products have been engineered for the preferences and requirements of New Zealand households, focusing on intelligent design, tailored features, and efficient performance.

Michael Eagle, Sales and Marketing Director for Australia and New Zealand at Dreame Technology, stated, "Dreame is proud to partner with all major ANZ consumer electronics retailers, aiming to redefine the in-store experience for household cleaning innovation. Data from the NZ Post 2024 eCommerce Review underscores the critical role of physical retail, with 89% of New Zealand's total retail spending still occurring in-store. This reinforces our commitment to enhancing the tactile, customer-centric shopping journey."

Dreame's approach features a specific strategy described as "One Market, One Strategy," which focuses on adjusting both product offerings and functionalities to the distinct needs of New Zealand residents. James Anthony Moore, Country Manager for New Zealand at Dreame Technology, commented, "While competitors prioritise universal designs, Dreame's 'One Market, One Strategy' philosophy tailors products to the unique needs of New Zealand homes."

Among the technological features highlighted is the X50 Ultra Robotic Vacuum's Dynamic Surface Adaptation, which can automatically adjust suction strength up to 20,000 Pa and alter brush or mop heights based on surface requirements. Dreame has also designed its appliances to cater to the 63% of New Zealand households with pets, utilising an Anti-Tangle Bionic Brush to reduce hair clogs and Smart Pet Deodorizing Foam Wash Technology for odour and stain removal.

For consumers seeking quieter appliance operation, Dreame products are engineered to run at 58 dB, which is lower than typical household devices such as coffee machines, aligning with the preferences for peaceful home environments commonly cited by New Zealanders.

The company has also incorporated sustainability measures across its products. Dreame reports the use of 84.88% renewable materials in the manufacturing of its devices, with packaging that is biodegradable or recyclable. Products are also supported by extended warranties.

The currently available product line-up in New Zealand includes the X50 Ultra Robot Vacuum and Mop at NZD $3,299, the L40s Ultra Robot Vacuum and Mop at NZD $1,899, and the L30 Ultra S Robot Vacuum and Mop at NZD $1,299. The Z10 Station Cordless Stick Vacuum is offered at NZD $549, while the Hair Miracle Hair Dryer and the AirStyle Pro are each available for NZD $699. The Z1 Robotic Pool Cleaner and Roboticmower A1 Pro are available at NZD $2,099 and NZD $3,499 respectively.

The product range draws on findings from domestic research, including market analytics and data from Dreame's laboratories. The company notes that actual appliance performance may differ from laboratory results, and features such as the X50 Ultra's robotic retractable legs have received certification from industry research specialists.

Dreame Technology's rollout is positioned to address emerging trends in New Zealand homes, including the move from carpeting to hardwood flooring and strong levels of pet ownership, through both its product engineering and retail strategy.
