Gatling Gears priced and dated
Electronic Arts has announced that Gatling Gears, an "action-packed, twin-stick shooter" will land on Xbox LIVE Arcade on May 12th and PlayStation Network on May 19th. It'll cost 1200 Microsoft Points on XBLA and NZ$29.95 on PSN.
From the press release from EA:
BIG-ASS BOSS BATTLES – Ever come across a giant mechanical house on rails that unloads rounds of ammo at you as it swings across the map? Or how about a mega-robot gardener that uproots hardy trees and lobs them at your face? Throughout your journey you will be tasked with taking down ruthless and challenging bosses, several of which are over 10 times your size and feature an insane array of weaponry and attacks.
FRANTIC, ADRENALINE PUMPING GAMEPLAY – Suit up in your mech walker and embark on an epic mission through 30 unique areas as you battle enemy forces to stop the Empire from destroying the planet. You will be faced with wave after wave of Empire armies, all of which are instructed to take you out by filling the air with lead. Dodge to survive and upgrade your Gatling Gear mech to ensure that the battlefield is riddled with the scrap metal of your enemies. Take on the fight alone or have a friend join you in online or offline co-op play -- but remember that even though you’re on the same team, it’s a battle for score and leaderboard prowess. Oh, and don’t forget the unlockables! Collect the gears left behind by the foes you’ve blown to smithereens and earn cool stuff for your mech.
SURVIVAL MODE – Of course there’s more! Get down and dirty with an additional game mode which features arena-based battles where you will go head-to-head with behemoth enemies. Complete your objective with or without a buddy by bobbing and weaving through thousands of bullets from enemy tanks, soldiers, homing missiles, grenades and cluster bombs.
JAW-DROPPING ENVIRONMENTS – You’ll play through six unique levels that feature unforgettable environment types that have graphics you’ll gawk at and particle effects that will blow your mind. You might think that you’ve seen some super cool backdrops, but Gatling Gears sets the bar for downloadable titles.
