Global hacker fires warnings at NZ govt
Wed, 28th Aug 2013
FYI, this story is more than a year old

"To the government of New Zealand: you have our full attention and we are watching your every move. Consider yourself warned."

That's the threatening line coming from global hacking group Anonymous, who have turned their attention to New Zealand - releasing a chilling video condemning the recent passing of the GCSB bill.

Opening with "Greetings citizens of New Zealand", the eight-minute video launches a full scale attack on Prime Minister John Key, warning Kiwis of the dangers of their country becoming more like the USA.

"Your right to freedom and privacy shall not be suppressed because of pressure from the United States government," the voiceover in the video says.

"You live in a democratic country and we as Anonymous will do everything in our power to remind your government that they do not control their citizens.

"That they are not in charge of our rights to freedom as human beings. That the people should not be afraid of their government; the government should be afraid of its people.

"To the citizens of New Zealand: Due to the inevitable corruption of your government we have decided to broaden the scope of our NZ operations."

During the next week operation kiwi freedom will come in to full affect, with the video transcript ending with:

WE ARE ANONYMOUS.WE ARE LEGION.WE DO NOT FORGIVE.WE DO NOT FORGET.NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT.YOU SHOULD HAVE EXPECTED US.
