Hands-on review: Logitech Zone 300 Wireless Headset

Tue, 21st May 2024

Wireless Bluetooth headsets are becoming more common these days as people don't like to deal with messy wires getting tangled all the time. Not to mention, modern smartphones require wireless headsets because they got rid of the old headphone jack!

Techday NZ has reviewed a ton of wireless headsets over the years, and now we have another one to test out. Today, we have the chance to test out the newly released Logitech Zone 300 Wireless Headset.

This device isn't just a headset because it also comes with a noise-cancelling microphone that you can use to call other people. This is a helpful device to use if you teach others online or work in the education sector and work from home like I used to.

Before I talk about the headset itself, let's first discuss its price and where you can get it in New Zealand. For people in New Zealand, the Logitech Zone 300 retails for $149.00 and it is currently now available at the likes of Noel Leeming, JB Hi-Fi, Mighty Ape, and PB Tech stores.

The price should be more affordable than the latest model of Apple Airpods, which currently cost $329.00. I recommend you use this headset on a computer, laptop, or smartphone depending on if you want to use it for work or entertainment.

Much like many other wireless headsets, the Logitech Zone 300 works right out of the box once you press down on the power button. I usually like to pair it up with my Samsung phone, and once it's powered up, I can use it almost instantly.

Usually, when I review headsets, I like to listen to my music playlist, which consists mostly of Metallica and Taylor Swift. This time, though, I thought I'd test it out on my Nintendo Switch and my small library of games.

The first game I tested out was The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and as expected the sound that these headphones put out is immaculate. It even managed to drown out the rain  pouring outside on a miserable Monday evening.

The sound is crisp and clear, and you shouldn't be disturbed if you're playing any video games or listening to your favourite music artists. Not to mention, the Zone 300 has a battery life of up to 20 hours for listening and 16 hours for talking.

Speaking of talking, the microphone is clear and loud, according to my brother. I used the headphones to ring him up, and he could hear my loud and boisterous voice on the other side.

People who need to use phones for business purposes should check these headphones out.

While the Zone 300 does not come with a charging case like earbuds, it does include one USB-C cable. A full charge only takes two hours, so you don't have to wait too long if you want to use them again. I usually like to charge things overnight, so the headphones are always ready for use.

The other thing I want to say about the Logitech Zone 300 is that it's comfortable, so most people shouldn't have any trouble fitting them on their heads. I usually like headphones that come with a head strap because some earbuds I use don't fit inside my ears properly, like the TOZOs I reviewed earlier this month.

Overall, I feel the Logitech Zone 300 Wireless Headset is worth the money if you need a quality headset for your phone, computer, or compatible video game device. It's mostly affordable and it's available at most major retailers that sell tech products in New Zealand or Australia.
