Internet security is an ever-changing landscape. Not only will you have to keep your security suites up to date in order to remain protected against the latest threats; you'll need to be aware of many threats that your suites simply can't protect you from.

The 'rogue security software' phenomenon has become especially prevalent recently: misleading applications masquerading as legitimate security software that is anything but. In many cases, unwitting Web surfers have been duped into purchasing fake online security software that actually facilitates the installation of malicious code.

NetGuide has tested the latest releases of some genuine Internet security suites that have been submitted to us for review. There are many more genuine suites out there that were not submitted for review (such as Eset, McAfee and BullGuard).

NetGuide encourages readers to ensure that they purchase and install only genuine and reputable security software.
