iPad 2 launch delayed in Japan
Apple is to delay the March 25th launch of iPad 2 in Japan following last week’s earthquake and tsunami.
"We are delaying the launch of the iPad 2 in Japan while the country and our teams focus on the recovery following the recent disaster," an Apple spokeswoman told AFP.
"Our hearts go out to the people in Japan, including our employees and their families, who have been impacted by this tragedy."
The spokeswoman added that an Apple store in the city of Sendai, where the devastating tsunami hit, has been closed.
Apple has not yet set a new date for the iPad 2 in Japan.
iPad 2 is due to go on sale in New Zealand next Friday, according to Apple.
