FYI, this story is more than a year old

Sidhe and Home Entertainment Suppliers Pty Ltd (HES) have announced that Jonah Lomu will feature in next year's Rugby Challenge game for console and PC. It will mark Lomu's first appearance in a video game in over 10 years (most notably the local favourite Jonah Lomu Rugby for PlayStation in 1997).

"HES is pulling out all the stops to make Rugby Challenge an exciting and memorable experience," said David Robles, business development manager for HES. "Jonah is one of rugby's greats, and will bring an extra something special to the game."

Not only will Sidhe incorporate Lomu's name, likeness and motion-capture into the game, but the Wellington-based development studio will also draw on his expertise and experience. "I'm a big fan of video games and being involved in making Rugby Challenge is a great experience," said Lomu.

Rugby Challenge will release for consoles and PC in Q3 2011, in time for the Rugby World Cup in early September. For more information, head along to the game's official site.
