Mario game announced for 3DS

During Nintendo's keynote speech at the Game Developers Conference (GDC), Nintendo's president Satoru Iwata  revealed that there is indeed a Super Mario title in the works for Nintendo's soon-to-be-released 3D handheld, the 3DS.

Very little was revealed about the title, although from the brief glimpse at some in-game screens the keynote attendees were shown, it appears to be a 3D adventure in the vein of Super Mario 64. Iwata contends that we'll see more of this game at E3 2011 in June.
