FYI, this story is more than a year old

My name is Miss Phloss and I am a Blogger and Burlesque show girl. I live in an eccentric pink-hued version of reality and believe life is too much fun to be taken seriously. My Blog is a sneak-peek into my life and the things I love. I'm excited that I can share this with NetGuide readers!

I've had my blog for over four years now, although it seems like it's been much longer than that!  When I began, I didn't really know much about the world of blogging. It started as a photo journal or diary of what I was up to week to week – an amateur auto-biography of my life – but my content has since evolved into a range of inspiration, photos, self-esteem motivation, fashion, style and more recently, exciting interviews about other unique and talented people.

From starting out as a go-go dancer and progressing to Neo-Burlesque performer, I've definitely been on an interesting journey. When I'm 50+, I'm going to look back on my articles, shows and photo-shoots and laugh. Blogging has definitely given me freedom to share my opinions, experiences and who I am with the world. To share creative, glittery, sparkly ideas, things I've made myself and bargains on crazy bright shoes, make up and clothes that I've found around Auckland and (even better) online.

Blogging has been my self help crash course on becoming a 'beginner nerd' as well. Learning basic HTML coding on MySpace when it was the most popular social media platform, coding and basic flash embedding (save me from the flashy gifs!)  Now on Tumblr I've indulged my "pink" obsession with my onlypinkthings.tumblr.com photo posts. With so many platforms available, writing a blog couldn't be easier, and if you're lucky you can get set up with your own domain name – I love mine!  www.missphloss.com

Blogging and social media have really helped me meet new and exciting people, promote and book Burlesque shows and learn more about business on the internet. I can't wait to see where it will take me in the future. I want to share my energy, motivation and inspiration with anyone out there who dreams of achieving their goals, even if it's not your typical 9-5 job!!  Just check out the interviews on my blog with all of the amazing people I have met over the years who, like me, work "not your normal job".

Tweet me back!  @miss_phloss
