FYI, this story is more than a year old

Game Console has just received word of unverified reports that Mortal Kombat has been delayed by one week in New Zealand, pushing its launch back to April 29th.

The rumour surfaced from the Twitter account of online retailer Mighty Ape, later explaining to another follower that the new release date has been confirmed earlier this morning by local Warner Bros. distributor, Fiveight.

Since we first caught wind of this after business hours, we've been unable to verify this with the distributor ourselves. However, it appears to be legit; Mighty Ape has adjusted the release date for the game on its site accordingly. Interestingly, EB Games has not yet updated the release date on its website.

Stay tuned for more on this development tomorrow.
