Nokia to offer non-LTE Lumia 900
Nokia has announced plans to release a toned-down version of its Lumia 900 for countries where the advanced LTE network technology is yet to be introduced, although Nokia NZ says there are currently no plans to bring it here.
Introduced at the Mobile World Conference in Barcelona, the non-LTE Lumia 900 will run on dual-carrier HSPA, which is understood to be offered in places here through Vodafone.
Unfortunately, Nokia NZ says at this stage they're concentrating on the Lumia 800, due out next month.
Nokia also announced a low-end Lumia 610 at the conference; the model runs on a version of Windows Phone optimised by Microsoft to run on units with less memory and lower processor speeds.
Both are expected to begin shipping in the second quarter of 2012, the 610 for 189 Euro (just over $300) and the 900 for 480 Euro ($766).
