PS4 officially fastest selling console in UK history

03 Dec 13

Sony's new PlayStation 4 console has become the fastest selling console in UK history according to official sales figures and eurogamer.

The next-gen console beat an eight year record that was surprisingly held by the PSP that was released back in 2005. The PS4 has sold over 185,000 units, beating the Xbox One which launched a week earlier - it also beat its predecessor the PS3.

In the gaming chart leading up to Christmas, it is no surprise to see COD: Ghosts rise to the top of the rankings. FIFA14 has dropped to second and Battlefield 4 is in third.

Killzone Shadow Fall has faired best out of all the PS4 exclusives ranking fourth, which has something to do with the title being bundled with the console.

Assassin's Creed and LEGO Marvel Super Heroes are in fifth and sixth place respectively, with GTA 5 in seventh.

Need For Speed: Rivals, Just Dance 2014 and Batman: Arkham Origins make up the rest of the top ten PlayStation 4 titles.

Another PS4 exclusive Knack has launched at number thirteen beating Super Mario 3D World along the way.
