FYI, this story is more than a year old

Uniden’s TRAX 350 is an entry-level GPS unit with a surprising wealth of features, including text to speech, verbal speed limit warnings and 3D landmarks on its maps.

Pros: Basic location and navigation tools are quick and well laid out. The spoken speed warnings are incredibly effective; most GPS systems just beep at you, but being told you’re being naughty is a very good way to get you to slow down – which, we hasten to add, is a very good thing indeed.

Cons: The 3.5-inch screen feels a little cluttered with all the information that Uniden has packed onto the screen, and the touchscreen interface is sometimes a bit tricky to navigate as a result.

Verdict: A good price/features compromise, and the spoken warnings are a definite plus.
