Riot reveals 'Ocean Week' challenge for local League of Legends players

Mon, 19th Jan 2015
FYI, this story is more than a year old

League of Legends players from Australia and New Zealand are invited to participate in "Ocean Week" happening later this month. League of Legends players on the Oceanic server are encouraged to get a lot of points from 23rd to 31st of January to unlock a raft of rewards. The "Ocean Week" is open to players across Australia and New Zealand.  The purpose of the "Ocean Week" is to vote on the ultimate League of Legends champion. Players that participate could have their names engraved in a one-of-a-kind statue. This statue will be of an artificial reef that will be put at the bottom of the ocean.  "We wanted to make something cool that players could contribute towards," explains Mirko Gozzo, Country Manager for Riot Games Oceania. "We've been working with a marine biologist and an artificial reef company to make sure we create something that is good for the environment and means something to players." Also up for grabs during Ocean Week are an IP Boost, Mystery Gifting Upgrade and more! There will also be free account transfers to the Oceanic server for players from the North American server.
