Star Wars Battlefront 2 set to be bigger and better than the first
Wed, 19th Apr 2017
FYI, this story is more than a year old

EA's first Star Wars Battlefront game was met with mixed reactions due to the lack of content available at launch. Star Wars Battlefront 2 on the other hand is looking so much better in comparison.  As announced at Star Wars Celebration last week, Star Wars Battlefront 2 is set to feature all of the missing modes and features that weren't present in the 2015 video game.  Much of the criticism towards the 2015 video game was the lack of a single player campaign. Not only that, but the game only featured content from the original trilogy. In order to access space battles and Rogue One content, you had to fork out extra money via DLC.  The lack of content is not a concern for the sequel. This sequel adds a single player campaign where you assume the role of Iden Versio who is an elite stormtrooper. You see through her eyes the moments after the Emperor is killed after the destruction of the second Death Star in Return of the Jedi.  The development team have also confirmed that this storyline fits into the official Star Wars canon. A novel based on the character is also being released later this year to give us even more background detail.  Not to mention Star Wars Battlefront 2 adds content from all the eras of the Star Wars timeline. This includes the original trilogy, the prequels and the new era. The playable heroes and villains announced so far include Rey, Kylo Ren, Darth Maul and Yoda.  It was also mentioned that offline co-op returns although this mode is exclusive to PS4 and Xbox One. PC owners won't be getting any split-screen gameplay whatsoever. No Nintendo Switch version was announced yet.  Anyway, the game will be released worldwide on November 17th, 2017. If you pre-order the game now, you can attain skins for Rey and Kylo Ren as they appear in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
