Timeline coming to everyone, like it or not
It was never a matter of 'if', but 'when' Facebook would make Timeline standard for all its users – and it turns out 'when' is 'over the next few weeks'.
In an update on the Facebook blog, engineer Paul McDonald says users still running the old layout will soon start seeing an announcement at the top of their home page telling them they're getting it.
When that happens, users will have seven days to preview their Timeline, choose a snazzy cover photo, and hide any embarrassing images or posts. After that their Timeline will go live.
Plenty of people have protested the move, but there's only one option for dissenters – the 'delete profile' option.
Timeline was first announced back in September, and rolled out here in New Zealand in December, a week before the worldwide release.
