Westcon-Comstor launches Tech ConneX platform for technical professionals
Fri, 29th Mar 2024

Westcon-Comstor, an international technology provider and specialist distributor, has released Tech ConneX, a new peer-to-peer platform designed to promote knowledge sharing amongst technical professionals in a non-sales environment. Tech ConneX is set to facilitate professional growth and enhance mutual understanding within the technology sector across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), according to the company.

According to Westcon-Comstor, Tech ConneX will facilitate technical cybersecurity and networking professionals' interactions and collaborations, enabling them to pool their knowledge and create their own professional communities. The pioneering platform is exclusive to the members of Westcon-Comstor’s Tech Xpert community, a vibrant network which has expanded to encompass more than 2,300 participants across the EMEA region since its inception in 2022.

Tech ConneX members will be entitled to access a rich network featuring over 100 solution architects from both Westcon-Comstor and major cybersecurity and networking vendors included in the Westcon-Comstor portfolio. In a major development, Cisco has joined the Tech Xpert community, thereby extending the Comstor line of business into the Tech Xpert network for the first time ever. This development has increased the total number of participating vendors to 16, indicating the robust community growth.

By utilising the resources on the platform, partners have the opportunity to expand their customer base and extra revenue, adding to overall growth. Tech ConneX offers features like near-real-time responses to direct messages, Q&As, forum discussions, local peer connections, vendor group memberships, and many more, enhancing its appeal for its users.

“Until now, technical professionals have lacked a platform to connect with peers in the channel - limiting their access to knowledge and expertise across partners, vendors, and Westcon-Comstor”, comments Daniel Hurel, Vice President of Cyber Security & Next Gen Solutions EMEA at Westcon-Comstor. Noting the uniqueness of Tech ConneX, Hurel emphasises that it is “the first of its kind in the channel” and serves as an interactive hub that links “a whole new ecosystem of technical knowledge for the partners”.

Hurel also highlighted the potential of Tech ConneX to enhance the sharing of best practices, promote peer-learning, encourage forum discussions, and allow Q&As. Stressing the importance of ongoing efforts by Westcon-Comstor and its vendors to deepen partners' technical expertise, Hurel notes: “With the introduction of Tech Xpert and 3D Lab - our unique, multi-vendor lab environments — we and our vendors have invested heavily in giving our partners truly unique opportunities and resources to build their technical expertise and capabilities.” He further identifies the potential of Tech ConneX to “amplify the benefits and outcomes of these investments” and expresses excitement about its market launch.
