Could this be the best use yet for Apple's larger than life iPod Touch?

Blizzard's life-draining MMO World Of Warcraft has been spotted up and running on Apple's iPad. Now before you get all excited, this doesn't mean that it's been officially announced for iPad, it just means that the technology is there to do it.

The technology powering this voodoo magic is called Gakai and it's being fronted by game designer Dave Perry, best known for the likes of Earthworm Jim and MDK. He's got a service in the pipeline that allows PC games to be streamed onto other devices. It's a bit like cloud computing for games.

"We're really interested to see what works well with streaming and will be trying just about every genre of game, on every device possible as we explore server-side computing," Perry said in his blog.

Would WoW on iPad interest you or is that asking too much of your free time?
