Adventure Time coming to a console near you
Adventure Time will be coming to PCs and consoles for the first time later this year, according to an announcement today by D3Publisher and Cartoon Network.
The first Adventure Time video game, cunningly titled Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why’d You Steal Our Garbage?!!, was exclusive to the Nintendo DS/3DS but its sequel will be made available to all platforms.
You might be thinking they wouldn’t have given the second game a strange title like they did the first time round, but then you wouldn’t know that the title is Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon Because I DON’T KNOW!
Yeah.
If you’ve never seen the show, it’s the latest hit to cross the age-barrier, appealing to both children and adults alike with non-sequitur humour and absurdist comedy.
Set in a fantasy world, the show stars Finn the human and Jake, his magical dog, who must keep the land free from evil. Classic stuff.
Fans of the show will be happy to hear that creator and writer Pendleton Ward is working on the game.
According to the press release for the title, players will have to “save the Candy Kingdom by exploring the mysteries surrounding a massive Secret Royal Dungeon deep below the Land of Ooo,” which might sound ridiculous but is actually pretty standard Adventure Time fare.
Playable characters will include Finn and Jake, of course, as well as other familiar faces like Marceline and Cinnamon Bun. There will also be a four-player co-op mode.
Expect to see Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon Because I DON’T KNOW! on the Xbox 360, PS3, the Nintendo 3DS and the Wii U (which, at the moment makes this one of the few games in development for the Wii U, haha, hilarious joke, cough).
