Thu, 22nd Aug 2024

Bluesound has announced the release of three new wireless hi-res music streamers: the NODE NANO, NODE, and NODE ICON. According to the company, these streamers offer redesigned hardware and advanced audio features, with each model catering to different segments of the audio market. The products are set to be available globally over the coming months.

Matt Simmonds, product manager at Bluesound, spoke about the legacy of the NODE family. “Since 2013 when it was first introduced, the NODE has been our most popular and loved product, with more customers choosing it over any other hi-res music streamer. Today is the next chapter in our mission to bring high-fidelity sound to everyday life. By creating a family of NODE streamers, we can reach more music listeners with hi-res streaming, offering a great entry point for customers, and a sophisticated step-up option for those who are serious about their audio,” he stated.

Each model in the NODE series has been engineered to provide superior sound quality and versatility. According to the company, the NODE NANO focuses on offering essential features to transform existing Hi-Fi components into powerful music streaming devices. Meanwhile, the NODE is a substantial upgrade of the original model, featuring an all-new ESS SABRE DAC for improved performance. The flagship NODE ICON boasts a 5-inch full-colour display and a Dual-Mono DAC design that incorporates two ESS SABRE DACs for high-fidelity audio reproduction.

Morten Nielsen, associate product manager at Bluesound, elaborated on the NODE NANO. “The NODE NANO is a new and affordable way to stream music in Hi-Fi quality on any audio device in your home. Simply plug it into your existing stereo system or powered speakers, follow the few simple steps to connect it to your home network, and start streaming. It’s now that easy to unlock a world of streaming and experience the difference of Bluesound,” he said.

According to the press release, the NODE NANO is designed to be compact and modern, accommodating various digital and analogue outputs for flexible connectivity. It integrates an industry-leading ESS SABRE DAC, ensuring high-quality audio output with minimal distortion.

The NODE is described as offering a significant upgrade to its predecessor, with an ESS SABRE ES9039Q2M DAC and built-in THX AAA headphone amplifier. This device also supports aptX Adaptive Bluetooth and high-resolution DSD playback. Simmonds commented on the NODE’s new capabilities: “The original NODE set the standard for performance, and it continues to be the most recommended streamer in the category today. We've meticulously re-engineered its components and circuitry to not only elevate sound quality but also to streamline its integration into any home audio system. Whether you're a dedicated audiophile or just someone who loves great-sounding music, the NODE is designed to enhance your listening in every way.”

The NODE ICON marks the pinnacle of the new series, aimed at the most discerning audiophiles. Nielsen explained its key features: “The NODE ICON represents a new pinnacle in wireless streaming, crafted for those who demand nothing but the best for their music. Every aspect of its design has been engineered to perfection, from the revolutionary Dual-Mono DAC design featuring ESS SABRE technology that delivers unparalleled sonic clarity, to its stunning aluminium chassis and 5-inch full-colour display. The NODE ICON isn’t just a streamer—it redefines stereo components for the next generation of Hi-Fi streaming.”

The products are also designed for seamless integration within existing audio systems and smart home setups. They feature advanced connectivity options, including HDMI eARC, USB, and aptX Adaptive Bluetooth. The NODE and NODE ICON models additionally offer state-of-the-art room correction technology via Dirac Live, a feature upgradeable through a license purchase from Dirac.

The NODE NANO, NODE, and NODE ICON are part of Bluesound's ongoing mission to enhance the listening experience by providing hi-res streaming capabilities across multiple devices. The company claims that these new products combine meticulous engineering and advanced technology to deliver unmatched audio performance.
