Innovative students get set for Global Student Entrepreneur Awards this week
Wed, 8th Mar 2017
FYI, this story is more than a year old

This Friday brings celebration of some of the country's top student entrepreneurs as part of The Global Student Entrepreneurs Awards (GSEA), to be held in Auckland's viaduct.

Run by the Entrepreneurs Organisation, the GSEA offers university students the chance to compete and take their businesses to the next level.

The seven finalists have formed businesses from a range of industries across the country, including technology, sports, education and hospitality.

The finalists are also future business leaders who will change the face of business - in fact, research shows that 65% of school children will be employed in jobs that haven't even been created yet.

The finalists will also hear insights from some of New Zealand's top entrepreneurs. The grand winner from the event will be able to present their business at the APAC Regional Finals in Indonesia, followed by the Global Finals in Germany.

The judging panel includes Peter Lamberton from ASB; Barbara Anderson from BKA Interactive; Carol Comer from High Impact; Sudesh Jhunjhnuwala from Sudima Hotels; and Sam Gadd from Humankind.

The Awards will also feature an insightful Q-A panel featuring John Comrie from Flying Kiwi; Seeby Woodhouse from Voyager Internet; and James McGlinn from Eventfinda.

“The GSEA is an opportunity for a promising young entrepreneur and their business to get a foot up, and – who knows - maybe become the next big thing.

The Global Student Entrepreneur Awards will be held on Friday 10th March from 2pm to 6pm, at the ASB building in Auckland's Viaduct.

Come along to see and support some of the future faces of business – and learn a few things along the way too. Entry is free with a ticket. For tickets contact Helene Hunt at admin@eoauckland.org.
