Apple is rumoured to have approved its one millionth iOS app, according to Appsfire.

Through an emailed statement to American news firm CNET, a spokesperson for the application discovery company claims the numbers includes all apps which have been "submitted and approved by Apple and that went live in the App Store" since its 2008 launch.

But despite the claims, Apple officially announced its App Store has 700,000 applications currently available last month, suggesting a large jump within four weeks.

An Appsfire spokesperson did acknowledge the tally did not include apps which have been rejected however, with CNET awaiting comment on the claims from Apple.
