Røde offers bonus Wireless Micro Camera Receiver for creators

Tue, 15th Jul 2025

RØDE has announced the Wireless Micro Camera Receiver, which is being offered as a bonus to all current and new Wireless Micro users.

The Wireless Micro Camera Receiver strengthens the existing Wireless Micro product ecosystem, providing users with the ability to switch recording seamlessly between smartphone and camera setups. It is designed to deliver wireless audio performance suitable for both casual and professional video productions.

Product details

The new receiver is a compact device intended to sit on cameras, and is compatible with up to two Wireless Micro transmitters. According to RØDE, it features dual-channel support, intuitive gain controls, intelligent plug-in power detection (which aims to extend battery life), and a communication range designed for performance in dynamic environments. The product is also built to integrate with a wide range of camera brands and models.

Damien Wilson, Chief Executive Officer of RØDE, commented on the product launch:

"We know today's creators are working across a wide range of devices. By extending the Wireless Micro's functionality and offering the Camera Receiver as an additional creative solution, we're once again delivering on our unwavering mission to deliver accessible, professional tools that evolve with the needs of modern content creation."

The Camera Receiver follows other recent developments for the Wireless Micro system, including its recent recognition by Rolling Stone as the "Best Microphone of 2025". The publication described the Wireless Micro as RØDE's most accessible wireless system to date, noting its size, design, and audio performance. Earlier in the year, the Wireless Micro expanded its technical range by enabling Bluetooth connectivity for iOS devices, thanks to Direct Connect functionality with the RØDE Capture app.

Features and availability

The Wireless Micro system is currently available in black or white finishes, and supports either USB-C or Lightning connectors for use with different devices. Each system includes a charging case that holds enough power for up to 21 hours of battery life.

Current Wireless Micro users and new customers in the United States can register their product for a bonus Camera Receiver by paying a shipping fee, but will not be charged for the receiver itself. New customers in Australia, the United Kingdom, and Europe will have the option to add the Camera Receiver to their orders at no additional cost.

RØDE has designed and manufactured the Wireless Micro Camera Receiver in its Sydney, Australia facilities. The company has stated that the receiver continues RØDE's focus on providing solutions for content creators, with the aim of simplifying the recording process while maintaining sound quality and value.
